What is a doula?

A doula provides emotional, informational and physical support to a birthing person.

Pregnancy and Birth are two incredible life-changing and life-affirming experiences and a doula can help you navigate a path that feels comfortable, aiming to help you bring your baby into the world with joy and confidence - whether that is in a hospital, birth centre or at home.

Doulas aim to provide evidence-based information to help prepare for your birth. Doulas actively listen to you and your partner and help create a birthing environment in which you feel at ease. Doulas support you physically and help before, during and after your baby arrives.

Why I became
a doula
I have three reasons for being a doula - one for each of my births.

From my first birth I learnt about the physiological process of birth and became passionate about the magic of bringing a baby earth-side.
From my second, I learnt the importance of a confident birth partner, advocate and emotional support.
And from my third, I learnt that mindset, manifestation and environment can completely change your labouring process.

I became a doula to help give you the best birth possible within whatever circumstances surround your pregnancy and birth.
